On May 25, the Seminar on the Construction of the "One-Stop" Diversified International Commercial Dispute Resolution Platform of the Supreme People's Court and the Development of the Belt and Road Demonstration Zone for International Commercial Legal Services (hereinafter referred to as the "Demonstration Zone") was held at the Sixth Circuit Court and the Second International Commercial Court of the Supreme People's Court in Xi'an International Trade & Logistics Park.

At the meeting, the Shanghai Commercial Mediation Center (hereinafter referred to as "SCMC") signed a strategic agreement with the Administrative Committee of Xi'an International Trade & Logistics Park to settle in the Demonstration Zone. Xi'an International Trade & Logistics Park is an important support and platform for Shaanxi Province, especially Xi'an, to integrate into the general pattern of co-constructing the Belt and Road Initiative. It also acts as the core area of Shaanxi Pilot Free Trade Zone and the carrier of the Demonstration Zone. As one of the first batch of the invited mediation organizations to be included in the "One-Stop" Platform of the Supreme People's Court in 2018, SCMC will help the Demonstration Zone to build a "one-stop" international commercial legal services system, promote the high-quality construction and development of the Demonstration Zone, and make positive contributions to the creation of a market-oriented, law-based and internationalized first-class business environment in the Xi'an International Trade & Logistics Park, making it the first choice for international commercial legal services and dispute resolution with influence on the Belt and Road.

During the seminar, Zhang Wei, Director of SCMC, was interviewed by several media and said that "the presence of SCMC in the Demonstration Zone is a win-win initiative. This not only gives SCMC a better opportunity to serve the Belt and Road Initiative, but also promotes the legal services in Xi'an International Trade & Logistics Park to further satisfy international standards."

In the seminar session , Director Zhang Wei gave a speech on the Construction of the "One-Stop" Diversified International Commercial Dispute Resolution Platform. She shared her views on the theme of building a first-class brand of commercial mediation in China and helping the Supreme People's Court to build a "one-stop" platform, and made positive suggestions on exploring and innovating a more diversified Chinese dispute resolution, building a good business environment, contributing to the high-quality development of the global economy and establishing sustainable international economic and trade relations.

Focusing on the further improvement of the Guidelines for the "One-stop" Diversified International Commercial Dispute Resolution Mechanism of the Supreme People's Court, Director Zhang Wei put forward positive suggestions from the perspective of the purpose and positioning of the system design, how to further utilize the "one-stop" platform and strengthen the guidelines of the platform. 

In the concluding speech, Tao Kaiyuan, Vice President of the Supreme People's Court, hoped that all parties would work together to accelerate the high-quality development of China's international commercial dispute resolution mechanism and contribute to the Belt and Road Initiative, and promote the reform of the global governance system. The opening ceremony of the seminar was presided by Yang Linping, member of the party group and vice president of the Supreme People's Court, and secretary and president of the Sixth Circuit. Liu Qiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Political and Legal Committee, Han Deyang, President of the Shaanxi High People's Court, as well as the heads of relevant divisions of the Supreme People's Court, expert members, invited representatives of arbitration and mediation institutions and other members attended the conference.
