The trainees of Seminar on the Rule of Law in Free Trade Port for Developing Countries Visited SCMC for Study and Exchange
On the morning of June 27, 2024, the trainees of Seminar on the Rule of Law in Free Trade Port for Developing Countries hosted by China's Ministry of Commerce, accompanied by the staff of International Cooperation and Exchange Center of Department of Commerce of Hainan Province, came to Shanghai Commercial Mediation Center (“SCMC”) to learn about China's commercial mediation. 33 government officials and business representatives from Gambia, Azerbaijan, Solomon Islands, Tanzania, Panama, Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, and Laos participated in this study and exchange.


Wei Zhang, Director of SCMC, introduced to the trainees the role of commercial mediation in resolving cross-border trade disputes, the basic principles of commercial mediation, and other relevant knowledge. She also shared the practical experience of SCMC in the past ten years. Director Zhang expressed that the development of commercial mediation is a consensus between China and the countries where the visiting trainees come from. SCMC will continue to improve the diversified dispute resolution mechanism in promoting internationalization, contributing to the first-class law-based business environment in Shanghai, and boosting the high-quality development of the global economy.
Director Zhang's speech was followed by a heated interaction with the trainees.
