Established Cooperation with the Hellenic-Chinese Business Chamber

  On July 5, 2024, Zhang Wei, Director of Shanghai Commercial Mediation Center (hereinafter referred to as “SCMC”) and the delegation visited Hellenic-Chinese Business Chamber (hereinafter referred to as "HCC”).

HCC, founded by decree of the President of the Hellenic Republic in December 2012, brings together a number of Greek and Chinese enterprises and has organized more than a hundred events of various kinds between Greece and China over the past twelve years, playing an important role in promoting the cooperation between Greek and Chinese enterprises in the fields of business, economy, technology and culture.

As early as 2012, SCMC participated in the Athens High-end Forum on Commercial Dispute Resolution and delivered a keynote speech as a representative of Chinese commercial mediation organizations under the recommendation of the Chinese Embassy in Greece. This visit marks an important part of SCMC’s deepening international cooperation in the wake of the epidemic, aiming to give full play to the commercial mediation in serving the economic and trade development of Chinese and Greek enterprises.

Ms Li Ying, Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Greece, participated in the event. She pointed out that, as Greece's largest global trading partner besides the EU, China is of utmost importance to ensure the stable and sustainable China-Greece economic and trade flows. Over the past ten years, HCC has made a great contribution to promoting the lasting prosperity of the commercial and trade exchanges between the two countries. The further cooperation between SCMC and HCC is of great significance to maintaining the long-lasting relationship between Chinese and Greek enterprises.

    In the presence of Counsellor Li Ying and other participants, Director Zhang Wei and President Aphrodite A.Bletas signed the cooperation agreement. The agreement mainly includes joint mediation of commercial disputes between Chinese and Greek enterprises, cooperation in commercial mediation publicity activities, commercial mediation training, promotion of model clauses for commercial mediation and other contents.

    Li Haige (Deputy Director of SCMC), Théophile Margellos, (International President of Advisory Board of SCMC and former Chairman of the European Union Intellectual Property Boards of Appeal), Helena Stamu (Vice-President of HCC) and other representatives participated in the event.
