Senior Government Counsel of Department of Justice of HKSAR Government Visited SCMC

On the morning of 31 May 2024, Ms. Li Nga Yee, Senior Government Counsel of Constitutional and Policy Affairs Division of Department of Justice of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR Government) visited Shanghai Commercial Mediation Center (SCMC), accompanied by the officials of Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Justice.

The two sides discussed the in-depth integration of legal services between Shanghai and Hong Kong. SCMC’s Director Wei Zhang introduced the role of SCMC in promoting the construction of a regional commercial mediation mechanism between Shanghai and Hong Kong and the high-quality commercial mediation highland.

Ms. Li said that Shanghai and Hong Kong had close economic and trade exchanges. She expressed the expectations for both sides to continuously enhance interconnectivity in the field of commercial mediation in the future by giving full play to respective strengths so as to provide new paths towards conflict resolution for enterprises in Shanghai and Hong Kong,jointly writing a new chapter of cooperation between Shanghai and Hong Kong in the field of legal services.
